Nice to meet you!

Tricia Anbinder, LCSW

Reclaim is my passion project. My heart and soul are in this work. I wholeheartedly believe that flourishing women have revolutionary power, and that their joyful lives can light the way for meaningful, systemic change.

How I got here

I have always had a passion for working with women.

I began my career in the field of rape crisis counseling and knew from the onset that supporting women in all stages of their healing was a calling for me. In 2006, I began building a private practice centered on women struggling with a wide range of wounds and challenges. But, it wasn't until I endured a years-long struggle with infertility and reproductive trauma that I came to truly understand how disorienting and lonely healing can be. I longed to be understood not just in my grief and despair, but also in the self-alienation, shame, and disconnection I felt within my body. I was incredibly fortunate to find a therapist and a community that helped me understand my wounds and make meaning from my experience.

So, when the clouds parted and I felt healed enough, I knew I wanted to provide for others the kind of support that had been so transformative for me.

I began specializing in working with women experiencing infertility, pregnancy and infant loss, traumatic delivery, and postpartum depression and anxiety. Over time, this specialization grew to meet the needs of my clients with young children and, later, clients with teens and adult children.

I soon heard client after client describe a deep sense of loneliness, resentment, grief, and shame while they struggled to meet never-ending demands of parenting, careers, and partnerships - none of which felt fulfilling in the ways they had envisioned.

These descriptions felt uncomfortably familiar to me. Like them, I would find myself scrolling on my phone rather than nourishing myself with sleep or true connection, binge watching rather than spending time with people I enjoy, sacrificing my own outlets for fun or play to avoid feeling guilty for taking attentive time away from my kids, and feeling too resentful, exhausted, and deprived to access the sources of awe and pleasure around me.

My clients inspired me to do the work of understanding my own sense of stuckness, to seek out change, and to reclaim the awe, joy, desire, pleasure, connection, and purpose that makes healing worthwhile. It's been a winding road, but I am cherishing the journey.

I am now bringing what I've learned along the way into my work with clients, supporting them as they expand into a life worth loving.
